I’ve been trying to find out who I am. Every time I questioned myself, “What is my resolution for this following year?” What are my boundaries? and such. Resolutions, in my opinion, are objectives, where there can be do’s or don’ts that you set for yourself.

There are these people which I admire when it comes to life talks, that they make a goal for them, and they achieved it. You may also call them influential ones.

It sets my confidence at a level where I know for a fact I can change. To put it another way, I have to get my mindset right so I can start achieving my goals. Despite the fact that on which I expect, that not every objective may be simple, I still want to risk myself in doing so.

I want to change

When I hear the phrase “better person,” the first words that come to mind are “growth” and “maturity.” However, what does it take for me to become a better person in 2022? Do I have to have something? Or meet someone?

As the days go by, new year is around the corner. Where our days of 2021 have finally come to an end. Finding that ‘someone’ that will change me is just a factor that will push me even harder to change. I asked myself why it takes something for a person to be a better person. It is because

A person doesn’t change easily.

There is no way a person would change for themselves. It is always someone who will give you a kick start and open your eyes to change. That leads a person to think differently of him/herself.

To become a better person

Yes, a person therefore change for a reason.

There are certain objectives where I want to change them, such as my personality or routines. Regardless of the difficulty, I’d do such procedures on how I can develop the said goals.

To widen my vocabulary

Broad vocabulary is basically having a sense of general basic words. And through this, I can express such words, in order to clearly explain a given topic.

I am currently working on my novel rom-com series, and there are certain parts of it where I have to pick certain words so the audience feels immersed in a particular scene.

Utilize time management

Procrastination has been a part of me ever since I got to high school. And trust me, it gets worse further on. I’m working on my chapters where I’m in my editing phase. It’s been two weeks already and I haven’t accomplished anything yet.

Managing time — I guess the bonus on this one is to finish my novel. Just so I can feel good about my author-self.

Better exercise

Exercise is a powerful depression fighter for several reasons. Most importantly, it promotes all kinds of changes in the brain, including neural growth, reduced inflammation, and new activity patterns that promote feelings of calm and well-being (Lawrence R., & Jeanne S, Ph.D., et al., 2021).

In other words, it helps me achieve my objectives; it may not be in a fast way, but it is a more efficient and logical way. Moreover, it supports my state right now, in which I spend most of my day quarantined.

For the near 2022

As I previously stated, expectations benefit the individual. Be truthful to yourself that, if there is a goal that you’ll set, be a man of your words and finish it.

Giving yourself expectations may cause you to have a negative outlook on life. However, as long as you have confidence in yourself, it will provide you with a source of advantage.

From the information gathered, it is important to trust yourself in completing your goals in life. Love your flaws.

It’s good for you to set goals, but it’s love when you’re doing so.

And I think love for me is in the process of how a person believes in him/herself that they can do it. Regardless of how small the goals are, the fact that you are putting effort into them is admirable.

— How about you, What is love to you?

Furthermore, these are just my three chosen goals where I want to develop. It may take weeks or months, but just the thought itself isn’t enough. I have to devote myself to it and exercise patience in the process.
